In 2005 Uniteam International signed a contract with the African Union for the construction of 30 Civilian Police Stations in Darfur. The African Union has the mandate for peacekeeping in the area and operates under the title African Union Mission in Sudan (AMIS). The project was successfully completed, despite of problems due to the ongoing war. In November 2006 we signed a contract for Upgrading of the Police Stations and the work is currently ongoing. This involves increasing the security by erecting a solid fence, building a double mobile latrine, replacing the generator etc. We are still experiencing problems and difficulties due to the volatile situation and acts of war throughout the region, but we are slowly moving forward and hope to complete the project this summer.
